Research and mediation tool for microscopic exploration of archeological samples, in collaboration with Paris-Saclay University.

The Paleoscope is a multimedia ecosystem of interfaces for research and mediation in the field of heritage sciences, offering multiple perspectives on the same research topic based on archaeological samples. Heritage sciences bring together a wide variety of disciplines, and therefore ways of working and communicating: the approach of an archaeologist is very different from that of a chemist or a museographer. The aim of the project is to facilitate exchanges between these disciplines, but also to provide mediation for a non-specialist audience. Using advanced 3D scanning techniques and virtual reality, the Paleoscope allows a microscopic sample to be brought to the scale of an archaeological site, where users can move around freely and instinctively understand the materiality of the objects they are observing.

This project was made with friend and designer Rémi Proietti, in collaboration with researchers Loïc Bertrand and Clémence Iacconi.
